Festival of Light

The Festival of Light started with ‘Blencathra by Moonlight’ in 2015 to help raise money for the Nepal Earthquake.  It was a meeting of friends and families from both Keswick and further afield that went for a walk up Blencathra with head torches on.  It proved to be such a success at both raising money but also bringing a community of like-minded people together that the ‘Festival of Light’ was born.  In 2016 the spine of Catbells was illuminated by hundreds of people and then in 2017 an impressive Nepalese Prayer Flag string of lights decorated the fells.  Last night Catbells once again provided the backdrop so after a great day out around Haweswater we headed out to Keswick to view this spectacular event.
