Holme Fell

A sunny but cold afternoon and a trip up Holme Fell, starting from Yew Tree Tarn.  Walking through an area of mature pine trees at the head of the Tarn we joined a well marked path up to the top which wasn’t long but was quite steep in places.  Lovely views down to Coniston Water – famous for various attempts at the world water speed record by Sir Malcolm and Donald Campbell.
